As I’m sure we’ve all seen in social media and on the news, we have some pretty slim pickings for who our next president can be. This doesn’t mean all hope is lost though. However, I know that a lot of us don’t want the current person who is playing the role of president to be re-elected. This is a serious time where we all need to at least be on the same page for once if not for anything else. We need a president who will promote unity and peace.
We need to be preaching this to millennials hard. I am a millennial myself and a lot of us understand the importance of voting but then we have the ones who don’t take it serious and that’s kind of a problem. I myself didn’t understand the importance of voting when I was able to vote for the first time which ironically was when Trump was running for office. I thought there was no way that he could get elected because our country wouldn’t take him serious. They clearly proved me wrong and I really hope it doesn’t happen again.
Now we have a Kanye jumping in the mix. Ok. It was funny when he said a few years ago but it’s definitely not funny now.
Y’all need to stop playing. I know we aren’t taking Kanye serious. This man doesn’t even take himself serious and he has a midlife crisis like every 6 months. A vote for Kanye is basically a vote for Trump. I know Kanye has dropped some fire music in these last few years and in the early 2000s but that does not qualify this man to be PRESIDENT. Now I know Joe Biden isn’t the best and a lot of his dirty laundry has been aired out publicly but he’s our only option besides Trump. Why? Because everyone dropped out of the race 😭.
We did this in 2016 too, when some of y’all decided to be funny and write in Harambe on the ballot..I just-🤦🏽♀️. Look, I know politics is tiring and boring but we need to take it serious when needed. This year has been a complete whirlwind with coronavirus making its appearance and the many tragedies that have taken place due to the corrupt system that have produced many protests and much needed discussions to come. We need someone who will focus on providing better resources in communities, better arrangements for those in ICE custody and not forcing kids to go back to school in these unsafe conditions and make them learn in environments that aren’t ideal.
I don’t want to goon too much about politics, but these problems are very real and we can’t afford to make mistakes. Now is not the time for games. Please do not write Kanye’s name on the ballot friends. Please.
